Well maintained Group gear is essential to safe activities
Role modelling from Leaders (both adult and youth) set an ethos for your section and the group
All gear and equipment should be checked by leaders before use – bungs, holes, rips etc.
Any small gear that is broken or defective should be removed from the storage area. Binned or left in boiler lobby if reparable.
Any damage on bigger boats should be noted and passed on to the QM
Most of the canoe deck equipment has been renewed and marked with an expiry date.
Boats should be lifted not dragged.
Leave no Trace
Prevents damage!
Team work makes the dream work!
Group gear should be removed before going into the den
Rinse all buoyancy aids, spray decks and helmets (Blue barrel should be filled before the session.)

Hang or put everything back up where it should be even if it wasn’t there when you got there!
If you don’t know where it should go, ask (now)!
Once again remember you are a role model
